Admittedly, buzz has been slow to mobilize on director Pascal Franchot’s teen thriller, and little is known about this since it began making the YouTube rounds nearly 18 months ago. But as best I can tell, this slumber-party-turned-serial-dare-fest-turned-midgrade-Heathers-knockoff is some sui generis schlock, with no less than Scout Taylor-Compton purring verbal bitchslaps like “I guess we’re not down, then,” and Brittany Robertson as some kind of skater-chick sociopath softie or… something. I have no idea. Flesh is bared, exfoliants are applied, bridge jumps are made — it is truly baffling, breathtaking stuff.
And it is finally coming to DVD! Sept. 21 is the big day, carefully triangulating the season’s teen-woe market opposite Never Let Me Go and It’s Kind of a Funny Story. The timing couldn’t better. And neither could the trailers, for that matter, with the first dating back over a year but finally posting to Apple this week.
Here are some new photos along with a wallpaper from Scout’s movie Triple Dog which will be coming out on DVD September 21. The Official Triple Dog Site has been updated with a lot of cool stuff! So make sure to check that out too!

I added a bunch of new personal photos of Scout from her twitter to the gallery! Make sure to check them out!
It’s become an October tradition for many members of the Dread Central crew to descend on the town of Worcester, Massachusetts for Rock and Shock, the combination horror convention/music blowout that just gets bigger and better each year. Now that the first guests for the 2010 edition have been announced, it’s looking like this year is no exception.
Running October 15th-17th at The DCU Center and The Palladium, Rock and Shock 2010 has the following confirmed guests so far:Danny Trejo, George Romero, Adrienne Barbeau, Scout Taylor-Compton, Ruggero Deodato, Gary Busey, Jake Busey, David Hess, Terrance Zdunich, Ogre, William Katt, Brian Steele, Thom Matthew, Beverly Randolph, and the Charles Band Road Show. Author Joe Knetter will be there as will bands like GWAR (it wouldn’t be Rock and Shock without them!), Nevermore, Twiztid, and Suffocation.
According to our friends at THR a slew of our favorite horror franchises are seeing more film time based solely on a few stars lining up and of all things the film Piranha 3D. Why are the animated, CGI laced ankle bitting Piranhas so important to our beloved franchises like Hellraiser, Children of the Corn and yes Halloween? Money!
Financial problems have plagued the company (owned by Bob and Harvey Weinstein) since its inception in 2005. With $30 million riding on Piranha 3D and another estimated $40 million on the resurrecting of the SCREAM franchise with SCREAM 4 money is the bottom line. If the films do well they fully expect to move forward with many projects including and we quote, “sequels to “Scary Movie” and “Halloween,” among others.”
